Must-See Magic Shows At The Edinburgh Fringe 2026

If you’re heading to the Edinburgh Fringe 2026, there’s one thing you shouldn’t overlook - seeing a killer magic show!

Even if you’re not “into magic”, there is sure to be something for you! From powerful story-telling, to non-stop belly laughs.

I have compiled a list of what I believe to be the top magic shows to see this year at the fringe, but there’s also plenty more! So check out the programme for yourself and see if anything takes your fancy.

But if I were you, I’d make sure you add at least 1 (if not all) of the magic shows from this list onto your fringe itinerary.

The following shows are in no particular order.

1. 1 Hour of Insane Magic

Venue: Gilded Balloon Teviot - The Debating Hall

Time: 17:30

Dates: 5th - 30th August 2026

A returning hit that continues to grow year after year, 1 Hour of Insane Magic has firmly established itself as one of the most in-demand magic shows on the touring circuit.

After a huge Adelaide Fringe 2026 - including sold-out crowds, over 4,500 audience members, and becoming the third highest-rated show of the entire festival - the show arrives in Edinburgh bigger, sharper, and more ambitious than ever.

Blending fast-paced magic, audience interaction, and genuinely jaw-dropping moments, this is a show built for large rooms and big reactions. With a prime slot in Teviot’s Debating Hall, it’s set to be one of the major magic events of the Fringe this year.

Now sure, I might be a little biased as I am in this show. But this show has been 3 years of our life, come see for yourself why we are “truly a global phenomenon”.

2. Ben Hart: The Labrynth

Venue: Palais du Variété at Assembly George Square Gardens

Time: 18:20

Dates: 5th - 30th August 2026

Tickets:

Ben Hart is known for creating magic that feels almost cinematic, and The Labyrinth promises a more immersive, mysterious experience. This is less about quick tricks and more about atmosphere, storytelling, and clever, layered illusions that unfold over the course of the show.

3. Elliott Bibby: Abracadada

Venue: Wee Room at Gilded Balloon Teviot

Time: 13:40

Date: 5th - 30th August 2026

Tickets: https://www.edfringe.com/tickets/whats-on/elliot-bibby-abracadada

Elliot Bibby brings a mix of sharp magic and big personality. Expect strong audience interaction, plenty of laughs, and effects that feel modern and direct. It’s the kind of show that doesn’t take itself too seriously - but still delivers where it counts.

4. 1 Hour of Insanity

Venue: Gilded Balloon Patter House - The Other Yin

Time: 16:35

Dates: 5th - 31st August 2026

Tickets:

As the name suggests, this one cranks everything up. Fast-paced, loud, and designed to get huge reactions, it’s built for Fringe audiences who want something exciting and a bit over-the-top.

This show is great for families and kids, and features a variety of magic and circus from an all-star international cast.

It was dubbed the “family friendly La-Clique” by Worldmagicreview

5. Kevin Quantum: Invisible force

Venue: Assembly Rooms - Ballroom

Time: 18:45

Dates: 6th - 30th August 2026

Tickets:

A Fringe favourite, Kevin Quantum blends science and magic into something genuinely unique. His shows often explore the “why” behind the impossible, mixing clever explanations with moments that still leave you completely baffled.

6. Underground Magic

Venue: Liquid Rooms - Studio

Time: 21:00

Dates: 8th - 30th August 2026

This is an unticketed event.

If you’re looking for something a little different from the typical solo show, Underground Magic is one of the most exciting magic shows at the Edinburgh Fringe 2026.

Instead of focusing on one performer, this is a live magic showcase featuring a rotating lineup of magicians, mind readers, comedians, and variety acts. That means no two shows are exactly the same - and you get a mix of styles all in one night.

This is actually a regular magic night in Edinburgh, so if you just can’t wait until the fringe, you can get tickets for the next one here:

7. 90s Magic Throwback with Chris Fleming

Venue: Hoots Hilton - Slice 5

Time: 18:40

Dates: 9th - 28th August 2026

Tickets:

https://www.edfringe.com/tickets/whats-on/90s-magic-throwback-with-chris-fleming

This show leans into nostalgia in a big way. Think throwback vibes, playful references, and magic that taps into that classic 90s feel - but with a modern twist. A fun, themed show that stands out from the typical lineup.

8. the Tom Brace Magic Hour

Venue: Pleasance Dome - King Dome

Time: 16:50

Dates: 5th - 30th August 2026

9. Jamie Leonard: Blink of an Eye

Venue: Liquid Rooms - Warehouse

This is an unticketed event.

Jamie Leonard (the young magician himself) brings a smooth, charismatic style to the stage. His performances focus on strong, visual magic with a modern edge, making it easy to get pulled into the experience.

This is your chance to catch someone before their career takes off.

10. Sean alexander: 1 Moment in Time
